06 Nov Market Volatility
If you’ve ever invested in the stock market will have an appreciation for the sleepless nights and pain and suffering that can be caused by market volatility. You can watch online as the markets, and your stock, increases and decreases, and the value of your investment goes up and down.
Why? A quick search on the Internet will confirm that there are about 10,000 different reasons, and if you can quantify a single reason then you will probably be a millionaire.
Like any investment, property goes up and down also. In fact, if you were to check the value of your investment property would probably fluctuate on a week to week basis. Importantly with property however, there are only two values that actually matter.
Did it match bank value?
How much did you sell it for?
Of course, if you are renting your property out there are a couple of other equations you should take into consideration, but for the sake of comparing apples with apples…or investments with investments, we will consider capital gains only.
